Mucha Tie Guan Yin
This Tie Guan Yin (“Iron Goddess of Mercy”) is a gorgeous, deeply roasted oolong from the Mucha (Muzha) region of Taiwan. Harvested from trees planted around 1875 - likely by settlers from Fujian Province - this Chinese-style oolong is traditionally made with 3-4 mature leaves and no buds and its origin dates to the early 18th century in Anxi.
Our Mucha Tie Guan Yin has undergone a days-long, intensive roasting process, giving it a lovely roasty character. Expect notes of coffee and caramel on the nose and mixed with candied fruit and apricot flavors on the palate. We recommend enjoying this rolled oolong over multiple steeps to fully appreciate all the expressions these gorgeous leaves have to share.
